    Rotary funds high school student participation at a 5 day leadership program.

    High school juniors experience a in-residence leadership immersion program at La Roche College.  Working with instructors and coordinated by Rotary the program prepares them for their Senior year success and beyond.

    Provide financial support to local high school students, enabling them to attend the World Affairs Institute.

    The Annual World Affairs Institute engages in seminars and discussions on key international issues as a engaging educational event led by Pittsburgh World Affairs Council who has partnered with Rotary for years.  The Council similar to Rotary promotes awareness and promotes PEACE.

    High school students gather for leadership training and discussions on ethical practices and decision making.

    In collaboration with Junior Achievement of Western PA and District 7300 Rotary Clubs, Pittsburgh Rotarians provide guidance and an exchange of ideas with 150 local high school students. Attendees are engaged during presentations and are able to interact with students from all over the region.

    This years Ethics Symposium was hosted by LaRoche College.  Guest speakers included:

    • Ward Garner, District Governor for Rotary District 7300
    • Mike Smith, President of Goodwill Industries in the Western Pennsylvania and our current president of the Rotary Club of Pittsburgh
    • Shelly Duffy, Best known for her Pittsburgh Radio Show on KDKA  
    • Dennis Gilfoyle – President of Junior Achievement here in Pittsburgh.  

    Other participants included Chaz Kellum from YWCA, a noted speaker and proponent of disability rights.
